![]() ![]() Pakistani singer and actress Meesha Shafi debuted as an actor in this Hindi film.After debuting in a group song in "Bunty Aur Babli" (2005), this was his first significant work as a playback singer. Shankar Mahadevan's son Siddharth had two solo songs in the film.A few months after the film's release, Milkha Singh said that part of his deal with the filmmakers was that they would give ten percent of the film's profits to the Milkha Singh Charity Trust, an organisation that assisted sportspersons and their families. The filmmakers presented him with a rupee note that was printed in 1958, the year he won independent India's first gold medal in an international athletic event. The athlete charged the filmmakers one rupee for the rights to make a biopic based on his life. The idea for this film came from Milkha Singh's autobiography "The Race of My Life" which he co-wrote with his daughter Sonia Sanwalka.He was a gold medalist at the Commonwealth Games and the Asian Games and represented India in three Olympic Games. This was a biopic of athlete Milkha Singh who was active in the 1950s and the 1960s.
